Engineering Reviews, assessments and inspections are required for the final sign off in order to complete a mandatory construction stage. The engineering reviews are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the 2012 Ontario Building Code and the requirements of section 2 of Ontario Regulation 260/08, made under the Professional Engineers Act, 1990, as amended. Our review was conducted in general conformance with the Professional Engineers Ontario Guideline for Professional Engineers “Providing General Review of Construction as Required by the Ontario Building Code”.
The construction compliance review are required by the City of Toronto Building Department or the Building Department of concerning Municipality in order to compare engineering documents with as-built on site stage of construction, Building Code, legislative requirements and other standards.
We at FA Engineering hold certificate of Authorization in order to provide sign off or compliance report for each stage of construction provided it meets the Ontario Building Code and other applicable standards. Periodic site visits are normally required during the course of construction to visually review the ongoing scope of construction.
We also assist homeowner, builders and contractors in correcting the violation that resulted in issuance of the ‘Stop Work Order’ or ‘Order to Comply’. Engineering Reports or Permit applications are often required to fulfill the conditions of the order. FA Engineering prepares the associated reports, drawings and permit application in order to resolve the matters.
